Cortana can now find files in your PC and open them, but only for Windows Insiders, for now.

Microsoft has released a new Windows 10 preview for Windows Insiders in the Dev channel. This update brings a few fixes and a new feature for Cortana, Microsoft's answer to Apple Siri and Amazon Alexa.


Cortana will help people find files using their voice rather than sifting through files by typing words. You can now ask the assistant to look for files based on parts of a file name, the author of file that needs to be found, or by asking it to find a recently edited file. Users can also ask to search for different file types, such as a PDF.

This preview will soon be introduced to the general users. This will prevent the mess one can make while finding files.

You can try this feature now by joining the Windows Insider Programs.



  1. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Insider Program on your Windows 10 device. (You must be an administrator on your device to see this setting.)

  2. Select the Get Started button. Under Pick an account to get started, select + to connect the Microsoft account you registered with and continue.

  3. Follow the directions on your screen to choose the experience and channel you'd like to get Insider Preview builds through. (Not sure which channel to choose? Learn more about channels.)

  4. Review the Privacy Statement and program terms, confirm, and choose Restart Now or Restart Later to finish setting up your device.

  5. Once your device restarts, make sure your data settings are set to the right level, so you can receive preview builds.

  6. Once you've set your data settings, go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and select the Check for updates button to download the latest Insider Preview build based on the settings you chose. Your device will update like it normally would with a Windows update.

Meaning Insiders with devices like the Surface Pro X, can now install and run any application that wasn't built natively for ARM devices. Its a big achievement folks. Well, Microsoft didn't mentioned anywhere in their official blog that the apps will run fine, but as it a preview of the feature, bugs in this feature will be handled before coming to public.  Microsoft has finally, after three long years, eliminated the single most debilitating problem with this platform. Cyberpunk 2077 launched, and its buggy. Halo Infinite delayed.

  Cyberpunk 2077 is finally launched today (10 December 2020), after being delayed multiple times.   The game is praised all over the world, although there are numerous bugs, which are yet to be handled by the developers.  Some gamers have also experienced seizures due the the flashing lights sequences, without any warnings. There was a warning in the User Agreement, but who the hell read those? The developers have said that hey will add separate warnings for those seizures. Halo Infinite delayed to fall 2021, again. Yes, a whole year after the release of Xbox Series X. The developers have said that the graphics will look a lot better next year. The developers released some screenshots to defend their words. So do the game delays work? I mean for the graphics.....
